Time to shift gears

The dictionary meaning of the word ?idling? is ?unproductive?. Of course, this may mean different things to different people. Idling as a concept itself is anti-productive, an unsustainable, wasteful and resource-draining activity. On a micro scale for instance, fleet owners know how much fuel is wasted while the trucks are in idling mode; contractors and plant hirers know what idling of machinery means.

A recent report from the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) forecasts that the world's manufacturing output growth will be slower compared to the last year. As per the report, the developing countries have maintained high growth rates of manufacturing with production increasing by 11.1 percent.

If we were to use diesel engines with lower emissions, then this figure would be reduced to 116,325 tonne.
